HanseYachts AG’s emission-free future
Climate protection is becoming more and more important for manufacturing companies. In cooperation with the Greifswald public utility company, the entire energy supply required for the production of sailing and motor yachts in Greifswald is to be converted to renewable energies in the future.
HanseYachts AG already obtains 100% green electricity from the Greifswald public utility company. An external service provider was commissioned to develop a sustainable and energy-efficient concept for the shipyards heating systems. The goal is to reduce our carbon footprint by connecting the production facility to the Greifswald district heating network.
At the same time, the gradual expansion of photovoltaic systems on the shipyard grounds and at the Helmshäger Berg production site will begin this year and will be completed in three years. The surplus electricity will be fed into the public grid and thus contribute further to a clean energy future locally in Greifswald.
In addition, the feasibility of battery storage and wind turbines on the shipyard site is also being explored, the goal being to enable electric mobility for employees which is 100% emission-free. Electric bicycles and vehicles could then be charged on company premises with renewable energy produced in-house.
